Galway’s live music guide: Sunday 29th July

Happy sunny Sunday to all you beautiful Galwegians!! It’s looking like the final day of the Galway Arts Festival is going to be a good one so get out and about and soak up the last vestiges of culture before….well, you know 🐎🐎

Loads going on today as usual, here is just a sample:

The early session in the Salt House kicks off at 4:30pm providing much needed musical salve for the hungover head. At 6pm Richie Brennan and the Vibe Tribe take to the stage in E-Bruns. Il Vicolo plays host to the finest in summer Jazz from 7:30pm with Szymon Misniak on drums. Monroe’s Galway is where you’ll find Mouse McHugh doing his thing from 8pm. The second of the Salthouse Sunday sessions kicks off around 8pm also. Open Mic Night at Róisín Dubh kicks of upstairs at 8:30pm with the legendary Steven Sharpe holding court. Mongoose bring their powerful harmonies to bear in the Roisin Dubh main stage from around 9pm. The Crane bar has it regular Country/Folk session kicking off around 9pm.

If you’re across the river then get on down to Tigh Neachtain and catch the always epic The Clandestinos where they will be raising the roof from 9:30pm. At 10:15pm the boys from Pyramid will be rocking the Quays Bar Galway or you can catch bass virtuoso Karl Clews in the Dail Bar from 10:30pm.

Tonight’s late gig in the Róisín Dubh is the festival closing party with the awesome Jenny Green on the decks until the wee small hours. Doors 11pm
