Galway’s live music guide: Sunday 3rd June

Happy sunny bank holiday Sunday to all you beautiful Galwegians!! Summer has landed and the Spanish Arch is living up to its name  It’s another glorious day out there and as always there’s plenty of music happening too! Here is just a sample of today’s goings-on…

12 midday sees the welcome return of the Biteclub – Streetfood DiscothequeDisco Brunch. If you are not already familiar with Biteclub’s now infamous Disco Brunches then you can expect a selection of delicious brunch dishes paired with exclusive disco brunch cocktails, with DJs Anthony Collins & Graham Dolan to keep you dancing through the afternoon. The Salt House afternoon session continues from 4:30pm featuring Noriana Kennedy and friends. Richie Brennan and The Vibe Tribe get old school in E-Bruns bar from 6:30pm. Jazz at Il Vicolo kicks off around 7:30pm with Szymon Misniak leading the charge. The Black Gate Cultural Centre plays host to the sublime piano compositions of Úna Keane at 7pm

2018 Gradam Award winner Frankie Gavin makes a welcome return to the Town Hall Theatre for a very special performance celebrating the Birthday of Tigh Choilí at 8pm

Open Mic Night at Róisín Dubh gets going upstairs at 8:30pm with Steven Sharpe & Trass Bee holding things together. Just back from tour, The Galway Street Club take to the stage in the Roisin Dubh tonight for more high octane rock and blues. Doors 8pm. Mouse McHugh performs downstairs in Monroe’s Galway from 8:30pm. Greg Cotter and Mary Flanagan continue to curate one of the friendliest Country/Folk sessions in the county in the Crane Bar from 9pm.

If you happen to be across the river then drop into Tigh Neachtain and catch the Viking Jungle beats of Vee and gang from 9:30pm. Pyramid kick things off in the Quays Bar Galway at 10:30pm or you can catch bass virtuoso Karl Clews in The Dáil Bar Galway at around the same time.

Well folks, it’s been another week of sun dodging and Aloe vera overdosing but we survived and are ready for that most special of times….The Bank Holiday Sunday Night!!
